Since our Clash of the Titans event, we’ve traveled the world meeting players, coaches, and fans. We studied the sport at every level to understand its challenges, remove barriers, and create a league structure that benefits everyone.

The History of Polocrosse:
Polocrosse began as a training method for young riders in Australia before evolving into a fast and competitive international sport. The game combines core elements of polo and lacrosse and places them on horseback, creating a style of play built on speed, precision, teamwork and timing. Riders use a racquet with a loose net to carry, pass and shoot the ball while working closely with their horses as true partners.Over time Polocrosse expanded beyond Australia and found strong communities in South Africa, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and parts of Europe. In those countries it grew into a respected equestrian sport with national teams, major tournaments and a loyal fan base.In the United States the sport remained small and mostly hidden from mainstream audiences. Its potential was clear, but it never received the structure, visibility or professional environment needed to reach new fans. ProXsports set out to change that.
ProXsports and Its Mission:
ProXsports is a nonprofit sports organization built to create new opportunities for athletes, fans and communities. Our mission is to launch professional leagues in sports that deserve greater recognition and to develop youth pathways that connect young athletes to real futures in sport. We focus on innovation, athlete first values, media quality and fan involvement so that every league we build becomes a true platform for growth.When ProXsports began studying Polocrosse it became clear that the sport had everything modern fans look for. It had speed, physicality, emotion, strategy and a deep connection between rider and horse. All it needed was professional organization, strong presentation and a national stage. Major League Polocrosse was created to bring this vision to life.
How Major League Polocrosse Operates:
Major League Polocrosse is the first professional Polocrosse league in the United States. The league is organized around state based teams that compete in a structured season with official match schedules, standings and a championship path. Every team represents its state and every fan has the chance to help shape their team’s identity through the official naming and branding vote.Matches are designed to be fast, high energy and family friendly. The league uses modern production tools including multiple camera angles, drones and field level audio to give fans an exciting view of every play. Events include supporter sections, family zones and a members area that brings fans closer to the athletes and horses.MLP places strong emphasis on athlete development, horse welfare and community connection. Riders and horses prepare through structured training, safety guidelines and consistent standards across the league. MLP also supports youth development by encouraging young riders to learn the sport and create a clear path toward future competition.The goal of Major League Polocrosse is simple. Build a real home for Polocrosse in the United States. Create rivalries, produce unforgettable events and raise awareness for a sport that deserves national attention. MLP is here to grow the game, inspire new fans and give riders and horses the stage they have always deserved.
